I appreciate the feedback from Part 1 of this blog. I’m glad you guys enjoyed it and have been asking when Part 2 is coming. Well, here you are. Enjoy!
I spoke about what the Enneagram is and why it’s important to know your type. I also explained the terminologies used and started with Type 8 and 9 in Part 1. Read it here in case you haven’t yet. I am going to continue with the last type in the anger triad. No long talks, I know you have been waiting all your life for this, let’s get right into it.
Type 1 – THE PERFECTIONIST
When Kwame comes home from work, he likes to see the house cleaned, kids already bathed, dinner served and the whole house rightly ordered. He’s quick to notice when one of these is out of place and complains about it to his wife, who is always trying her best to meet his expectations. One night, Kwame comes home from work and the house is clean, the kids are bathed, and dinner is on the table. Now, you’d think he will say something like, “Wow, this is awesome!” But the first thing he does is point at the couch and say, “the cushions are out of place”.
I’m sure you are thinking the same way I’m thinking. Haha! Who does that? Honorable Ones! Kwame is a perfect picture of a One. Ones always have a high expectations of others and themselves, because they are terrified of making a mistake. They work themselves way too hard, I mean, the work has to be done and if it must be done, it must be done well. A famous One is Nelson Mandela.
Talking like a One: People have told me I can be overly critical and judgmental. I beat myself when I make mistakes. I don’t feel comfortable when I try to relax, there is too much to be done. I have a lot of self-discipline. I worry a lot. I like routine and don’t readily embrace change.
Healthy Ones: are committed to a life of service and integrity. They are balanced and responsible and able to forgive themselves and others for being imperfect. They are principled but patient with the processes that slowly but surely make the world a better place.
Average Ones: have judging and comparing minds that naturally spot errors and imperfections. They struggle to accept that imperfection is inevitable while fearing the tyranny of that critical voice in their head.
Unhealthy Ones: fixate on small imperfections. These Ones are obsessed with micromanaging what they can. Asserting control over something or someone is their only relief.
Deadly Sin: Anger is the deadly sin of Ones, but resentment is truer to their experience. Ones feel a compulsive need to perfect the world. Keenly aware that neither they nor anyone else can live up to their impossibly high standards. They believe the world judges people who don’t follow the rules.
Ones with a Two wing (1w2): These are more extroverted, warm, helpful and empathetic on the high side of Two, but they can be more critical and controlling on the low side of Two. They are generous in response to church, education, community, government and family. Another thing about them is that they tend to have a more rapid pace of speech, and because of it, they quickly transition from teaching to preaching. They talk too much and try to accomplish a lot in a day.
Ones with a Nine wing (1w9): These tend to be more introverted, detached and relaxed, more idealistic and objective, they are often more circumspect, thinking before they speak to avoid saying something wrong or erroneous. Their laid-back, easygoing stance helps in building and maintaining relationships.
Stress: In stress, Ones instinctively take on the not-so-great qualities we’d expect to see in unhealthy Fours. Their inner critic begins working overtime, and their need to perfect the world goes into overdrive, they become more resentful of others having fun, more sensitive to criticism and depressed.
Security: In security, Ones take on the great qualities we associate with healthy Sevens, where they’re more self accepting, spontaneous, fun and open to trying new things. Here, the voice of the critic gets quieter, they’re not as hard on themselves, and they shift their attention from what’s wrong about the world to what’s good and right about it.
Spiritual transformation: If you’re a One, you believe the only way you’ll know peace on the inside is if you perfect everything on the outside. It’s not true. That tranquility only comes when you surrender your compulsive need for perfection and stop stifling your emotions, particularly your anger. Ones, do well to remember there’s more than one right way of doing things and a person does not need to be perfect to be good. You also need to hear that “You’re imperfect, and you’re wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging”. Only God is perfect, never forget that.
Type 2 – THE HELPER
Twos have an amazing way of making other people feel safe and comfortable. They are not judgmental, they accept you just the way you are, they create a space both physically and emotionally in which people can speak from their hearts and experience. Averagely, Twos are unaware that there are unstated expectations and ulterior motives behind their helping behaviors. It is not until they need help that they get filled with resentment that the people they helped didn’t show up for them. They are always on the lookout for signs of whether other people appreciate them. A famous Two is Mother Teresa.
Talking like a Two: When it comes to taking care of others, I don’t know how or when to say no. I care a great deal about what people think of me. I feel drawn to influential people. I’m more comfortable giving than receiving. People say my emotions can feel over-the-top.
Healthy Twos: can often name their own needs and feelings without fear of losing relationships. They have appropriate boundaries, create a comfortable, safe space for others and are friendly.
Average Twos: are convinced that expression of their own needs and feelings will automatically threaten the stability of their relationships. Generally only know themselves in relation to others.
Unhealthy Twos: are codependent and in their desire to be loved, will accept almost any substitute: appreciation, even neediness. These Twos are insecure and manipulative.
Deadly Sin: Pride is the deadly sin of Twos. Twos direct all their attention and energy toward meeting the needs of others while disavowing having any of their own. Their secret belief that they alone know what’s best for others and that they’re indispensable reveals their prideful spirit.
Twos with a One wing (2w1): They are concerned about doing things properly, want to be seen as responsible and dependable. These Twos have clearer boundaries and are more aware of their needs but have more trouble expressing them. They are less trusting and expect more in return for their efforts.
Twos with a Three Wing (2w3): They are more ambitious, image-conscious, competitive, extroverted and sometimes seductive like the Three. These Twos are morecondident so they achieve more: being seen as successful is a close second to being known as loving and generous.
Stress: Twos in stress take on the characteristic behaviors of an unhealthy Eight, where they become demanding and controlling either directly or manipulatively. They blame other people for what makes them unhappy and can be surprisingly aggressive and vengeful about past wrongs.
Security: When they’re feeling secure, Twos move to the healthy side of Four, where they’re okay with not having to pretend they love everybody. They have some understanding of the need for self-care and can focus inward, where they invest in themselves by doing joyful things.
Spiritual Transformation: When people give too much, help for the wrong reasons, or serve others for selfish reasons rather than because they’re called by God, their giving becomes calculating, controlling and manipulative. All Twos have to learn the difference between self-interested and altruistic giving. Self-interested giving expects a payback while altruistic giving comes without any strings attached. Dear Twos, sometimes, you think you are serving God or other people when you’re actually not. Sometimes all the doing and caretaking is not what God is calling you to do. Lean into God to know what He actually wants you to do, sometimes, He just needs you to relax in His presence.
Type 3 – THE PERFORMER
For a Three, image is everything and so will do everything to maintain their image even if it is a false one. They do feelings more than have feelings. Because they can’t access or recognize their feelings very well, Threes will unconsciously observe how other people are expressing their emotions and copy them. They can mask and postpone feelings so they won’t blow their “I have it all together” cover. Not only do they not pick up on their own feelings, they won’t pick up on yours very well either. A famous Three is Tom Cruise.
Talking like a Three: It’s important for me to come across as a winner. I don’t like it when people slow me down. I am competitive to a fault. I could persuade Bill Gates to buy a Mac. I keep a close watch on how people are responding to me in the moment.
Healthy Threes: have transcended the goal of merely looking good and are moving toward being known and loved for who they are and not what they accomplish.
Average Threes: push achieving to overachieving, spending too much time at work or the gym. They see love as something to be earned, they are confident in their abilities but also image conscious.
Unhealthy Threes: find failure unacceptable , which renders them unable to admit mistakes and causes them to behave as though they are superior to others. Desperate for attention, they may turn the deadly sin of self-deceit into intentional deceit, telling others fabricated stories about themselves and their accomplishments in order to maintain their image.
Deadly Sin: Threes are guilty of Deceit. Threes value appearance over substance, abandoning their true selves to project a false, crowd-pleasing image. They buy their own performance and deceive themselves into believing they are their own persona.
Threes with a Four wing (3w4): It’s difficult to be a 3w4, because Fours are people who care greatly about depth and authenticity. These people take having a rich inner life to a whole new level. They are sensitive, artistic, emotionally intense, and they work more carefully on “crafting” the right image.
Threes with a Two wing (3w2): Charming and intimate, 3w2s make great entertainers, politicians, salespeople and pastors. When their lust for attention and recognition overtakes them, they become angry and hostile. They still have a strong desire to be recognized for their achievements. By all means, they must be stars.
Stress: When stressed, they take on characteristic behaviors of unhealthy Nines. They retreat to the couch with the remote or lose themselves in unproductive busywork, they also lose confidence and become self-doubtful.
Security: When Threes are feeling secure, they move to the positive side of Six, where they become warmer and more in touch with their feelings and the feelings of others, less competitive and defensive and are able to devote more energy to family and friends. They are able to experience being loved for who they are instead of what they do.
Spiritual transformation: When they’re spiritually healthy and self-aware, they have nothing to prove. Inevitably as Threes awaken spiritually and become self-aware, they will feel naked and ashamed. In the moment, what they need is a kind but strong friend who will call them back to the truth of who they are, should they start marketing and packaging themselves for mass consumption again. We all need to hear we are loved for who we are, but Threes need to hear it until the day comes when they look in the mirror and see not an image so much as the reflection of a son or daughter of God.

Более двух лет более 3,5 млрд рублей на счетах кооператива почти непрерывно арестованы по ходатайству сначала ГСУ ГУ МВД по Санкт-Петербургу, а затем Прокуратуры Санкт-Петербурга: пайщики не имеют возможности ни приобрести недвижимость, ни вернуть средства.
По данным совета потребительского кооператива «Бест Вей», в числе его пайщиков, страдающих от блокировки средств, тысячи военнослужащих, в том числе сотни участников СВО, часть из которых успела приобрести квартиру, часть собирает или собрала первоначальный взнос, а часть — планировала вступить в кооператив. «СП» пообщалась с некоторыми из них и их родственниками, чтобы узнать отношение к «Бест Вей» и событиям вокруг кооператива.
«К кооперативу отношение очень хорошее»
Александр Голдман на СВО с мая 2022 года как доброволец, три ранения. Пришел на СВО рядовым, сейчас — начальник штаба батальона. Был пайщиком кооператива, сейчас пайщик — его мама.
«С помощью кооператива в 2019 году приобретена двухкомнатная квартира во Владивостоке, в которой проживает мама, — рассказывает он. — Расплачиваемся за нее, в ближайшие месяцы намерены погасить задолженность перед кооперативом и оформить квартиру в собственность. К кооперативу отношение очень хорошее, полностью его поддерживаю — он дает возможность без больших переплат приобрести недвижимость. К действиям в отношении кооператива отношусь отрицательно, так как „Бест Вей“ — единственная возможность приобрести жилье в рассрочку».
«Происходящее вокруг кооператива вызывает шок»
Гвардии рядовой Глушков Иван Васильевич — пайщик кооператива из Челябинской области. Танкист, мобилизованный, проходил службу в 15-й отдельной гвардейской мотострелковой Александрийской бригаде 2-й гвардейской общевойсковой армии ЦВО. Погиб 11 октября 2023 года.
Рассказывает его вдова Татьяна Неручева:
«Мы внесли первоначальный паевый взнос и во второй половине 2021 года встали в очередь на приобретение квартиры в Челябинске, когда начались события вокруг кооператива — была заблокирована его возможность приобретать недвижимость и заблокированы его счета. Наша очередь должна была подойти примерно через год. Мы заявили для приобретения небольшую квартиру, но планировали при покупке увеличить ее стоимость до 3 млн и купить двухкомнатную квартиру — с увеличением первоначального паевого взноса: уставом кооператива это позволяется, а затем переехать из Коркино в Челябинск. Сейчас 3 млн хватит только на небольшую квартиру-студию метров 25, то есть мы понесли материальный ущерб из-за блокирования деятельности кооператива, так как лишены были возможности приобрести квартиру, на которую собрали первоначальный паевый взнос. Работа кооператива заблокирована, счета арестованы уже более двух лет. В наследование пая я только вступаю, так как муж очень долго считался пропавшим без вести — долго шла экспертиза, и свидетельство о смерти мы получили только 18 июня этого года».
Татьяна — юрист: «Как у юриста у меня происходящее вокруг кооператива вызывает шок, и любой непредвзятый юрист вам скажет то же самое». «Кооператив, — подчеркивает она, — абсолютно прозрачен, он полностью соответствует законодательству о кооперации — что и подтверждалось многократно государственными органами и судами. Если бы мы с мужем не были уверены, что все прозрачно и законно, мы бы не вкладывали в него деньги. Мы не подавали заявление о выходе из кооператива. Я, несмотря ни на что, жду счастливого завершения рукотворного кризиса вокруг кооператива. Для меня это еще и память о муже — он продал долю в квартире, которая ему принадлежала, чтобы вложиться в кооператив. Кроме того, мне хочется понять — до какого маразма может дойти ситуация у нас в государстве в плане незаконных действий в отношении организации, которая по тем или иным причинам не понравилась каким-то чиновникам?».

Уже нужно было подбирать объект недвижимости и вставать в очередь на покупку, как работа кооператива была заблокирована по инициативе правоохранительных органов, и это продолжается уже более двух лет. По-прежнему надеюсь получить квартиру и рассчитываю, что ситуация закончится благополучно. Поддерживаю кооператив».
«В кооперативе минимум переплат — несопоставимо с ипотекой»

«Я нахожусь в накопительной программе — планировал покупку квартиры в Санкт-Петербурге. До постановки в очередь на покупку дело не дошло, но сумма внесена серьезная — и на два года все зависло. Есть друзья-военнослужащие, которые также являются пайщиками и тоже накапливали деньги на первоначальный паевый взнос — они, как и я, не могут ни продолжать накапливать, ни получить деньги обратно, потому что счета арестованы. Отношение наше к ситуации, создавшейся вокруг кооператива, крайне негативное».
«Кооператив поддерживаю, — говорит пайщик. — Моя сестра живет в квартире, приобретенной с помощью „Бест Вей“ — у нее многодетная семья, сейчас кооперативная квартира переходит в ее собственность. Минимум переплат — несопоставимо с ипотекой. Надеюсь, что ситуация с арестом счетов разрешится в ближайшее время».

The scheme also involves addressing the root causes of the problem. According to HIH, many of the farmers who turn to logging do so because they need the money for basics like healthcare.
“They live far from the healthcare clinics, and they see logging as a place where they can get quick cash,” explained Mahardika “Dika” Putra, conservation program manager at HIH. “If they need this amount of money, they cut this amount of trees.
“We asked what solutions they think they need to live in harmony with the forest and they said, ‘high quality, affordable healthcare, and training in organic farming.’”

Human brain samples collected at autopsy in early 2024 contained more tiny shards of plastic than samples collected eight years prior, according to a preprint posted online in May. A preprint is a study which has not yet been peer-reviewed and published in a journal.
“The concentrations we saw in the brain tissue of normal individuals, who had an average age of around 45 or 50 years old, were 4,800 micrograms per gram, or 0.5% by weight,” said lead study author Matthew Campen, a regents’ professor of pharmaceutical sciences at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
“Compared to autopsy brain samples from 2016, that’s about 50% higher,” Campen said. “That would mean that our brains today are 99.5% brain and the rest is plastic.”
That increase, however, only shows exposure and does not provide information about brain damage, said Phoebe Stapleton, an associate professor of pharmacology and toxicology at Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey, who was not involved in the preprint.
“It is unclear if, in life, these particles are fluid, entering and leaving the brain, or if they collect in neurological tissues and promote disease,” she said in an email. “Further research is needed to understand how the particles may be interacting with the cells and if this has a toxicological consequence.”
The brain samples contained 7% to 30% more tiny shards of plastic than samples from the cadavers’ kidneys and liver, according to the preprint.
“Studies have found these plastics in the human heart, the great blood vessels, the lungs, the liver, the testes, the gastrointestinal tract and the placenta,” said pediatrician and biology professor Dr. Philip Landrigan, director of the Program for Global Public Health and the Common Good and the Global Observatory on Planetary Health at Boston College.
“It’s important not to scare the hell out of people, because the science in this space is still evolving, and nobody in the year 2024 is going to live without plastic,” said Landrigan, who was not involved with the preprint.

Журналисты утверждали, что уголовное дело было сфабриковано в целях завладения имуществом компании, прекращения еедеятельности и устранения администрации. «Уголовное дело, возбужденное де-юре в отношении неустановленных лиц и находящиеся в настоящее время в производстве старшего следователя по ОВД ГСУ ГУ МВД РФ по СПб. и ЛО подполковника юстиции Винокурова А.Н., направлено не на объективное расследование, а на сбор компромата на руководителя компании и дискредитацию его в деловых кругах Санкт-Петербурга и Ленинградской области во исполнение «заказа» рейдерских структур».
И далее: «Незаконными действиями следователя Винокурова полностью парализована деятельность ЗАО, а его сотрудники незаконно привлечены к уголовной ответственности».
Следователь А.Н. Винокуров, действуя умышленно с целью опорочить честь и достоинство руководителя, в присутствии сотрудников предприятия не допускал его в личный кабинет депутата, сообщала газета. «По личному указанию следователя Винокурова А.Н. оперативные работникив нарушение требований ст. 12, 113 УПК РФ, ст. 25 Конституции, гарантирующих неприкосновенность жилища, проникли в квартиру, принадлежащую дочери кассира предприятия. Был проведен незаконный обыск. Спустя некоторое время сотрудниками УЭБиПК была совершена попытка покушения на то же преступление в отношении частной собственности гендиректора».
Следственными органами, писала «Сельская жизнь», игнорируются очевидные факты и обстоятельства, позволяющие говорить о заинтересованности следователя Винокурова А.Н. в привлечении должностных лиц компании к уголовной ответственности, что может быть следствием того, что следователь либо иные лица, имеющие на него влияние, финансово мотивированы рейдерскими структурами.
«Следователь Винокуров А.Н. умышленно вводит в заблуждение руководство о необходимости продления сроков предварительного следствия, указывая не соответствующие действительности результаты годичной работы, которой на самом деле не было».

The Danube stood at 1.17 meters (3.8 feet) in Budapest on Tuesday, which compares with an all-time record low of around 0.4 meters (1.3 feet) registered in October 2018. During floods, the Danube rises well above 6 meters (19.7 feet).

Uber is cashing in on spooky season.
The ridehailing company will now deliver costumes, makeup, and even decorations from Spirit Halloween, the largest Halloween retailer in North America, Uber announced in a press release Friday.
Big-box retailers are getting into Halloween earlier and earlier, suggesting American consumers continue spending on the October holiday even as they pull back from other discretionary purchases.
Customers in the US and Canada can buy their Chipotle burrito costume for the same price as in store, but without having to visit the seasonal Halloween store that pops up in abandoned storefronts every year, Uber said. Of course, there will still be the fees associated with Uber Eats delivery.
Spirit Halloween has 1,525 locations.
“The holiday season officially kicks off this time of year, and households across the country are looking to on-demand delivery to get what’s needed—now,” said Beryl Sanders, director of US grocery and retail partnerships at Uber, in a statement.
Since the pandemic, different types of retailers have partnered with Uber to deliver their goods – such as Olive Garden for its breadsticks and pasta. Uber Eats has also partnered with Big Lots, Lowe’s, Michael’s and Party City for on-demand delivery.
Uber and its competitors have also experimented with robot deliveries, though those have not fully taken off in the US market.

The plane – A Trident 1C operated by BEA, which would later become British Airways – was equipped with a newly developed extension of the autopilot (a system to help guide the plane’s path without manual control) known as “autoland.”
Today, automatic landing systems are installed on most commercial aircraft and improve the safety of landings in difficult weather or poor visibility.
Now, nearly 60 years later, the world’s third largest aircraft manufacturer, Brazil’s Embraer, is introducing a similar technology, but for takeoffs.
Called “E2 Enhanced Take Off System,” after the family of aircraft it’s designed for, the technology would not only improve safety by reducing pilot workload, but it would also improve range and takeoff weight, allowing the planes that use it to travel farther, according to Embraer.
“The system is better than the pilots,” says Patrice London, principal performance engineer at Embraer, who has worked on the project for over a decade. ”That’s because it performs in the same way all the time. If you do 1,000 takeoffs, you will get 1,000 of exactly the same takeoff.”
Embraer, London adds, has already started flight testing, with the aim to get it approved by aviation authorities in 2025, before introducing it from select airports.

“I started receiving emails from folks whose doctors had prescribed the Mediterranean diet and were seeking approachable recipes,” Karadsheh said. The plant-based eating lifestyle, often rated the world’s best diet, can reduce the risk for diabetes, high cholesterol, dementia, memory loss and depression, according to research. What’s more, the meal plan has been linked to stronger bones, a healthier heart and longer life.
Preparing meals the Mediterranean way, according to Karadsheh, can help you “eat well and live joyfully. Some types of sea robins, a peculiar bottom-dwelling ocean fish, use taste bud-covered legs to sense and dig up prey along the seafloor, according to new research.
Sea robins are so adept at rooting out prey as they walk along the ocean floor on their six leglike appendages that other fish follow them around in the hope of snagging some freshly uncovered prey themselves, said the authors of two new studies published Thursday in the journal Current Biology.
David Kingsley, coauthor of both studies, first came across the fish in the summer of 2016 after giving a seminar at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Kingsley is the Rudy J. and Daphne Donohue Munzer Professor in the department of developmental biology at Stanford University’s School of Medicine.
Before leaving to catch a flight, Kingsley stopped at a small public aquarium, where he spied sea robins and their delicate fins, which resemble the feathery wings of a bird, as well as leglike appendages.
“The sea robins on display completely spun my head around because they had the body of a fish, the wings of a bird, and multiple legs like a crab,” Kingsley said in an email.
“I’d never seen a fish that looked like it was made of body parts from many different types of animals.”
Kingsley and his colleagues decided to study sea robins in a lab setting, uncovering a wealth of surprises, including the differences between sea robin species and the genetics responsible for their unusual traits, such as leglike fins that have evolved so that they largely function as sensory organs.
The findings of the study team’s new research show how evolution leads to complex adaptations in specific environments, such as the ability of sea robins to be able to “taste” prey using their quickly scurrying and highly sensitive appendages.
